The Online Event Raises Money For Child’s Play, A Charity Dedicated To Helping Kids In Hospitals And Domestic Violence Shelters

The 24-Hour Game Show Marathon is the world’s most intense quiz game night. Three best friends and game show fanatics will re-create 24 of their favorite game shows for a worldwide audience, all to raise money for Child’s Play. This isn’t like your friends’ board game night—Cory Anotado, Christian Carrion and Bob Hagh have created graphics, gathered sound, built game show buzzers, written trivia questions and gotten friends and game show champions together to create another unforgettable night, all to help children in need.

The hosts of the 24-Hour Game Show Marathon are no strangers to the world of game shows. Between them, they’ve appeared on over 10 different game shows and won close to $100,000 in cash and prizes. Together, they run BuzzerBlog, the world’s most popular game show news website. And they’re using their passion and love of game shows to do a world of good.

The fifth-annual 24-Hour Game Show Marathon will start streaming online at at 12 PM ET on Saturday, July 23, and broadcast for 24 straight hours out of the headquarters of in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Anyone can drop in and watch the broadcast for free, or make a donation, by going to the official Game Show Marathon website at Games range from popular favorites like Family Feud and Jeopardy! to more obscure games like Definition and Mastermind, and they’re all recreated faithfully to their TV or radio counterparts.

For the past five years, Chris, Cory and Bob have raised over $12,500 for charities including the American Cancer Society, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. Last year, the guys raised over $5,000 for Child’s Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 100 hospitals and domestic violence shelters worldwide. They’re looking to raise another $2,500 this year for Child’s Play. “We’re doing this for the love of game shows,” organizer Cory Anotado said. “We’re taking the weird fan obsession we have and channeling it to do something good for the world we live in.” Organizer Bob Hagh agrees: “To actually give back while doing something we love is a win-win situation.” Christian Carrion views this yearly event as a hallmark of his life. “Aside from being on TV, this is one of my proudest moments,” he says.

About Christian Carrion

In just a few years, Christian Carrion has been able to use his lifelong passion for game shows and television broadcasting to obtain experiences he’d previously only dreamed of. The journey started at age 18, when Christian was a contestant on The Price Is Right with Bob Barker. Following that were appearances on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Meredith Vieira, Hip Hop Squares on MTV2, GSN’s hit quiz show The Chase, NBC’s landmark Million Second Quiz, and the syndicated Let’s Ask America. In total, Christian has appeared on seven major networks and won a total of $17,203 in cash and prizes. An aspiring television host, he’s hosted several game, news and talk programs at WSIN 1590 AM in New Haven, CT, where he also served as general manager and news director. Off camera, he worked as the head writer for a game show pilot produced in New York for VH1 in October of 2013. He lives in Leola, PA with his girlfriend, Catherine.
